Extended School Enrichment Program Overview
Extended School Enrichment (ESE) centers provide safe,
economically feasible before/after school and summer care that supports
and enriches the lives of students and their families. ESE has
centers at each GISD elementary campus for children in Pre-Kindergarten
through 5th grade.
Children have opportunities to participate in activities
that benefit them emotionally, socially, physically, and academically,
including:
- Homework assistance
- Computers
- Tutoring
- Arts & Crafts
- Science
- Music
- Gardening
- Nutrition
- Sports & Games...
...and many other educational, creative, and cultural
activities. A trained staff plans and conducts the program to meet
the needs of the children and provide positive adult role models.
Each center is licensed by the Department of Protective
and Regulatory Services. ESE is designed with today's working
families in mind, and is funded entirely by student tuition.
