It’s that time of year when schools and programs are asked
to nominate outstanding participants for the end of the year awards. The
deadline for nominations for Georgetown Partners in Education (PIE)
2007-2008 Awards is
Noon on Friday, February 15, 2008
The 2008 Partners in Education Celebration PIE Night at
Dell Diamond will be April 12, with activities beginning at 5:30 p.m. in
the berm with reception to follow. This is an opportunity to recognize
those individuals in our community and schools who have made a
significant difference in the lives of our GISD students. The selected
award recipients will be publicly recognized at this event with a
reception in the Brushy Creek room honoring their commitment to our
community.
Nominations must be received at the Georgetown High School,
Georgetown Partners in Education, 2211 N. Austin Avenue, Georgetown, TX,
78626 by noon Friday; February 15, 2008.

Partner of the Year (Individual Category)
— Recognition of an individual from the community and GISD who exemplifies
the spirit of Georgetown Partners in Education through consistent
participation and personal dedication by demonstrating commitment to
community service, such as mentoring and tutoring, and instilling the
importance of high academic goals and enthusiasm for the opportunity to
significantly impact the lives of younger students. This award is based on individual
achievement.

Partner Category (nominated by GISD
member)
• GISD Employee
Partner Category (nominated by
Community/Business member)
Southwestern University
Partner of the Year
— Recognition of the individual or group that has significantly
impacted the Georgetown students by demonstrating commitment to community
service, such as mentoring and tutoring, and instilling the importance of
high academic goals and enthusiasm for the opportunity to significantly
impact the lives of younger students.
Partner of the Year (Business Category)
— Recognition of a business partner which has typified the mission of
Georgetown Partners in Education through exemplary participation within
the program. The contributions to a GISD school or school program should
be well balanced, creative, organized, and active. Involvement and
commitment
as well as financial, in-kind, and volunteer hours should
be superior to other businesses or organizations of similar resources.

Partner Category (15 or fewer employees)
• Large Business
Partner Category (more that 15 employees)
Harry Gold Award of Excellence
— Recognizes the vision and leadership of an individual or business
partner working toward the goal of building better students, workers, and
citizens. The nominee’s commitment to academic enrichment should serve as
a source of inspiration for others, much as did Harry Gold, who
contributed to the
Georgetown schools for over 50 years.
